Payroll results are also posted to General Ledger accounts for use in periodic income and expense reporting. For Management Accounting (CO), information regarding employment costs can be transferred to Cost Centers within the CO module. Employees can be assigned to Work Centers, which are used in conjunction with modules like Production Planning (PP).

The Human Capital Management (HCM) module has the following sub modules: Organizational Management, Personnel Administration, Recruitment Time Management, Payroll Benefits Compensation, Management Personnel Cost, Planning Budget, Management Personnel, Development Training & Event Management, Travel Management, etc.

Production Planning module caters for all avenues for producing a finalized or finished good. It includes the time required to set up machine, the time required to produce a single finished good as well as catering the costs incurred in the process of manufacturing that can be both direct and indirect costs involved in the production of a single unit of finished goods such as: labor hours, machine hours, factory overheads that can be both fixed or variable in nature, also production waste, scrap and by-products.

The Production Planning (PP) Module has the following sub-modules;

Plant Maintenance (PM):

Plant Maintenance (PM) covers preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance and corrective maintenance. The PM component enables companies to maintain their production machines in mint conditions through timely maintenance.

The Plant Maintenance (PM) module ensures that all the machines installed within the production facility and which are under company’s ownership are working properly and are in mint condition. They are looked after regularly to avoid major break down that can result in low production and loss in terms of major disaster if the machine should be scrapped altogether due to low maintenance. System regularly prompts and checks when the maintenance of a machine falls due. It is integrated with MMCO and FI (Asset Accounting sub-module) modules.

Project Systems (PS):

Project Systems module covers business processes of a Project to effectively manage project of any size. Project Systems (PS) is designed to support the planning, controlling, and monitoring of long-term highly complex projects with defined goals. To be able to control all tasks/activities involved in project execution, an organized form is required specifically to monitor the status of the project and which is shared with all departments involved.

The SAP Business One software solution integrates working business functions for the whole company, including financial management, purchasing, sales, distribution, customer service management (CRM), inventory management, production, project management, and field service. It is a single application that eliminates the need for separate point solutions and the complicated integration of several modules. SAP Business One can be installed on a server or in the cloud.

SAP Netweaver SAP Business Intelligence (BI):

SAP Business Intelligence (BI) is a component of SAP NetWeaver. The main purpose of SAP BI is to enable efficient and robust reporting, analysis, and evaluation of business data. SAP BI supports consolidation of information both from production modules and from external sources. The sub-areas of SAP BI are the following:

Data Warehousing – this facilitates the integration, transformation, consolidation, cleanup, and storage data.

BI Platform – this provides the technological infrastructure and offers various analytical technologies and functions.

BI Suite: Business Explorer – this contains flexible reporting and analytical tools for strategic analysis, operational reporting, and decision-making support within a business.

Development Technologies – this is the BI Java SDK, Open Analysis Interfaces, and Web Design API. AP HANA (high-performance analytic appliance) is an application that uses in-memory database technology that allows the processing of massive amounts of real-time data in a short time. The in-memory computing engine allows HANA to process data stored in RAM as opposed to reading it from a disk. This allows the application to provide instantaneous results from customer transactions and data analyses

Advance Business Application Programming (ABAP):

is a high-level programming language created by SAP that helps large corporations customizes their SAP platforms. It is the main programming language that CRM, S/4HANA, SAP ERP, and SAP NetWeaver ABAP platforms and application servers support. While some solutions, such as SAP Business One, SAP Ariba, and acquired products like SAP Concur and SAP SuccessFactors, run primarily on other languages, ABAP will still play a role when these solutions integrate with a central, ABAP-based SAP ERP or SAP S/4HANA system. ABAP allows SAP customers to customize workflows for financial accounting, asset management, materials management, and all other SAP modules.

System Administration (BASIS):

SAP System Administration (BASIS) involves SAP ERP/S4HANA software installation, taking timely backups, disaster recovery, security of the SAP servers, user creation, managing roles and authorizations of the users which includes authorization management to control which process owner is authorized with specific set of business transactions

Security

Organizations using SAP as their business application or ERP/ERM system often store their most critical assets, including intellectual properties within SAP. This data must be protected against unauthorized access originating from both outside and within the organization. SAP systems require extensive protection and security monitoring as business-critical systems.
SAP (Systems Applications and Products) Security is a means to protect your company’s data and systems by monitoring and controlling access both internally and externally. SAP Systems are a type of ERP/ERM software used widely by all kinds of businesses across a variety of industries.

There are various aspects to SAP Security, such as infrastructure security, network security, operating system security, and database security. Another layer involves the secure code, which includes maintaining SAP code and security in custom code.

A secure setup of SAP servers is essential to keep your business’s private information safe and out of the hands of cyber attackers. It covers the secure configuration of a server, enablement of security logging, security in terms of system communication, and data security. Users and authorizations are also critically monitored and tracked.

Given the complicated and interconnected nature of SAP systems, there is a lot that goes into maintaining their security.

Overview of the different aspects involved in SAP Security:

Infrastructure security
Network security
Operating system security
Database security
Secure code ABAP/4
Configuration of a server
Enablement of security logging
System communication

The Most Common Uses of SAP Security Are:

Avoiding exploitation and fraud
Ensuring data integrity
Identifying unauthorized access
Continuous and automated audits
Detecting data leaks
Centralizing security monitoring
